Having a couple of extra pounds or being obese can place people in stigmatizing situations. Some of you know that stigma comes in many forms like negative comments, criticisms, etc. And every year that passes, people are getting more and more stigmatized. This happens because of the society that we are living in.
Here is a small list of the top 5 sources of such stigma.

- Co-workers or colleagues

Researchers have discovered that people may confront a range of sources of stigma at all levels of overweight, but experience the most stigma from family members as their weight increases each month.
Younger people were much more likely to report being stigmatized by classmates, teachers, and nurses than older people. That’s not surprising, considering that young people now a days have more inscurities then before.
Other sources of stigma include: boyfriend or girlfriend, magazines, tv and health experts.
