The Price Of Losing 30 Pounds

Have you ever wondered how much it cost to lose 30 pounds with the most popular diet programs? Yeah, I bet you have, that’s why I wrote an article on the cost of losing 30 pounds with Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Nutrisystem and The Zone Diet.

I know there are many more diets that I didn’t mention here, but I wanted to take just the top 5 because those are the ones that people are familiar with and available almost anywhere.

Jenny Craig

* Fees: $360 yearly.
* Food: $80 to $120 per week. If 4 months of food is purchased this will cost around $1300 to $2000.

LA Weight Loss

To lose 30 pounds you need to pay for; 15 weeks weight loss, 6 weeks stabilization, 52 weeks maintenance (total 73 weeks).

* Fees: Setup - $174 plus $7 per week ($685 for 73 weeks)
* Food: Required to purshase protein bars (LA Lites) at considerable cost. This is a very controversial subject. People hate buying bars directly from LA Weight Loss.

NutriSystem

* Fees: None.
* Food: Using auto shiping the cost per month is $293.72. With a suggested weight loss of 2 pounds per week this equates to about four months or $1174.88. Note that dieters must also buy fresh greens and other dairy products.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is a some what more complex as there is no restrictive food programs.

* Fees: Around $215.80 and $299.80, depending on location, or $97.75 online.
* Food: Not included.

Conclusion

A pretty cool analysis, as you can see here, the Zone Diet seems to be the most expensive of them all. But this doesn’t mean that its bad. To tell you the truth, The Zone Diet is one of my favorite diet programs because in my experience, Its one of the best programs that produce excellent results in a short period of time.
