3 Things You Didn’t Know About Fat

HamburgerThe word fat is very popular and most people hate it. We really don’t like hearing that word, especially when it has to do with our bodies. Some people relate fat to bigger cloths, less sex drive etc.

But fat is necessary to maintain our health and plays a crucial role in the processes of our bodies. Fat has lots of negatives and some positives.
Here are three facts that you may not know:

1) If you lose a weight, your fat cells shrink, but they do not go away.

Having more then 103 billion fat cells in our system sounds scary. But even with all those fat cells we can still manage to lose weight, as a matter of fact, when we lose weight, our fat cells get smaller. But never go away, they just become less metabolically active, waiting for you to eat that big juicy hamburger from Ruby Tuesday so it can expand once again.

That’s why you see so many people lose and gain weight in a short period of time.

2) Fat tissue attracts cells that promote inflammation.

When you gain pounds - not only do you feel bad, but there are lots of things happening inside your body because of the extra fat.

When you start getting excessive fat, your body response by producing an immune response similar to when you get the flu. Why? Because fat attracts immune system cells that results in inflammation. So when your body sees all this extra fat, it acts like an invasion to your system and it tries to fight it off.

3. Fat cells behave differently in different parts of your body.

Men carry all there extra fat in there midsection, so when you gain weight, most of it goes to your gut.

Like some of you know, belly fat increases the probability of having bad cholesterol. So in other words, belly fat, also known as abdominal fat is the worst and most dangerous . Not only does abdominal fat increase the risk of stroke, but it also can lead to diabetes and cancer.

Even though abdominal fat is the most dangerous, there is no way you can actually do an exercise to lose weight in that specific area, the only way is by doing a whole body workout.
