What is inflammation?
Inflammation is something that happens to all of us. Its simply a normal process of the bodies healing system. Its very noticeable. People who have inflammation normally show swelling, redness and pain. This happens when you have injured or broken some part of your body. People could also have internal inflammation which show no sign in the surface and can be very dangerous.
And where does our diet fit into all of this?
When the body shows inflammation, it means its trying to repair injuries or trying to fight some kind of infection. What people don’t understand is that this process of inflammation can be much faster if people eat a good diet. The foods we consume has a big influence in the hormones that control inflammation. Basically the Anti Inflammatory diet helps prevent any damage to tissue and helps tremendously in someones health.
How much of omega-3 fatty acids should we have in our diet?
As some of you know, the body can not make essential fatty acids, that’s why is very important to obtain these healthy fats from out diet. Therefore, you should look for foods rich in omega 3 fats like fish, walnuts, eggs, etc. Also there are some great supplements out there that hep you obtain essential fatty acids at a very cheap price. But always look for quality not price tag. I would recommend daily intakes of 200 to 500Mg of omega 3 daily depending on your body type and sex.
What Meals should make up an Anti-inflammatory Diet?
An Anti Inflammatory diet should consist of lots of healthy foods. People who are in a Anti inflammatory diet usually eat lots of vegetables and fruits and try to prevent any kind of processed meal. The basic goal of this type of diet is to eat a variety of foods which are healthy and contain the least amount of saturated fat.

There is a lot of debate in this matter. Is exercise alone better for weight loss? Or is dieting alone good enough?
There has been a study on this exact subject and the results were that both gave the same results.
The study appears on the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (abstract).
This study involved 35 overweight people which were in healthy condition beside there weight. The 35 people were divided in two groups. One group reduced there calories by 27%. The second group were told to have a reduced diet of 13% and they had to do enough exercise to burn another extra 13% calories.
Result
Both groups lost in average of
- 10% of body weight
- ~24% of fat
- 27% of belly fat
My personal opinion is that if people want to see great results, then they should always combined exercise with a balanced diet. You should never put yourself in a position were you have to choose between exercise or diet because both are essential.
Zantrex 3 is another popular diet pill that has been advertise a lot. The problem with some of these weight loss pills is that they claim to have the secret ingredients to burning fat, but the truth is that these diet pills have very well known herbs, but companies advertise them in a way to make there products look special.
Zantrex 3 is the best selling weight loss suppement currently in the United States, betting xenadrine and stacker 2. I believe this diet pill has been so succesful thanks to the great advertising campaigns.
Its a best seller, but is it any good?
Well, before i answer that, lets take a look at the top 3 ingredients.
- Xanthine- This herb is found in many popular drinks like coffee and tea and it has been found to give you lots of energy.
- Yerba mate- This is a great compound for increasing metabolism.
- Green Tea- Many of you know the benefits of green tea, it helps in increasing metabolism and also has anti cancer fighting oxidants.
Overall, Zantrex 3 has lots of caffeine and it may give you jitters, so those who are sensitive should not take this. But it does give you lots of energy for your workouts. Overall you should look at Zantrax 3 as a energy booster and not so much as a fat burner.
Is it expensive?
When it first came out it was very expensive, but now many retailers have drop the price considerably.
Well many years ago the diet pill stacker 2 was released to the public. It was a big hit, especially with all the millions of dollars that the company spent on advertising. It wasn’t just popular because it was advertised a lot, but because it really was very effective.
I must say that it was one of the best diet supplements i had taken. The problem was it had some mild side effects and most importantly it had ephedra. The FDA some years ago banned ephedra and demanded that all supplements that contain this ingredient should be remove from the market immediately, that’s were stacker 2 got in trouble and has to take there supplement out of stores.
Then they came out with a new version called the ephedra free Stacker 2, this new version isn’t nearly has effective as the original because it doesn’t contain the key ingredient ephedra, but the important thing here is that the new version is much safer.
I’m glad that the FDA banned ephedrine because it was just to dangerous for the public and it even caused death to some.
So, is the new Stacker 2 good?
Yes, this supplement has gotten very good reviews and I’m certain it will help archive your weight loss goal much faster then just dieting alone.
Here are 5 foods that you should avoid in your diet. These foods are very bad for your health and have excessive amounts of calories, sugar and fat. Trust me, you don’t want this in your body. I’m pretty sure there are more terrible foods that i haven’t listed, but i will write another article on bad food choices once i have done more research.
1 Pepperidge Farm Original Crust Roasted Chicken Pot Pie (1,020 calories and almost 20 grams of fat)
2 McDonald’s Chicken Premium Breast Strips (1,650 mg of sodium)
3 Chipotle Chicken Burrito (1,200 calories and 20 grams of sat fat)
4 Dove Ice Cream (300 calories and 13 grams of saturated fat)
5 Fields Milk Chocolate and Walnuts cookies (400 calories and as much saturated fat as a 13 ounce sirloin steak)
Exciting new research has discovered something that I’m sure you are going to like. They have found a 21 minute exercise technique that results in almost four times as much fat loss as a 40 minute session on a stationary bike.So what is it?
Its a form of interval training that consist of an 8 second sprint on a stationary bike followed by a 12 second modest cycle.
“Walking for 60 minutes, seven times a week does not result in much fat loss, usually 1.15kg over 15 weeks – for a lot of overweight people this is going to be a revolution,” he said.(from news.com.au)
The scientists which did this study have gone as far as to say that this technique will “spot reduce” fat in the buttock and thigh area. Most interval training involves intervals of 30 seconds or more.
The scientist behind the new research (Professor Boutcher) believes it may be a “revolution discovery” for a lot of obese people.
Diets that consist only on protein has gotten pretty popular in recent years. The rationale behind a high protein diet is that carbohydrates cause swings in blood sugar which encourages your body to create body fat. Overall a high protein diet emphasis on minimizing your carbohydrate intake by 80%.
A normal high protein diet involves you eating eggs and ham. You can not eat any bread or juice. For lunch you can have a big burger, but with no bun. At dinner you can eat anything that involves meat like steak, tuna, fish, etc. You can complement the meal with a small salad if you want.
One of the problems with high protein diets is that this can cause water loss. This happens because your body hardly has no carbohydrates in your system, therefor it doesn’t store any water. That’s why you may see a fast weight loss when doing a high protein diet, because of the water loss.
Another problem with high protein diets is that it can lead to excessive consumption of cholesterol causing serous health problems. Also not having carbohydrates in your body can make you very weak.
Who ever thought people were going to associate video games and weight loss, but a Wii fan-boy has done an experiment which resulted in some tremendous weight loss by playing Wii Sports.
The guy ‘which i don’t know the name’ began a diet that consisted in playing Wii sports for 30 minutes every day for 6 weeks and the results were pretty cool. He lost almost 10 ponds and 2% body fat. Who ever thought a video game console could do this.
I have to mention that when he played Wii sports, the guy was playing very aggressively.
The reason why he managed to lose all those pounds with the Wii is because this console has a new game control that requires movement to be able to play any game.
You can simulate the physical action of tennis for example and the video game emulates your action on your TV. I have played the Wii myself and its very fun, even for adults like us.
The gamer makes these conclusions.
A.) You get back whatever you put into something.
b.) Wii games can and are a great way to have exercise and not even know you are burning extra calories.
A new study shows that a hormone called pancreatic polypeptide can lower appetite by sending signals to the Brian that you are full.
The researchers has been funded with 2.2 million to move on with there research, specifically with chewing gum.
It been shown that obese people like chewing, so looking at giving this hormone threw chewing gum is a great idea.
Some test has already been done and the results are pretty good. Patients given the hormone ate almost 26% less then what they regularly would.
I hope this study gets all the funding needed so that the researchers can finally bring out this medication for the obese people. The hard part is going to be getting it approved by the FDA.
Many of you want to lose weight, that’s why its important for you to learn the facts from the fiction and get past all those weight loss myths. Here are 4 common myths on weight loss.
Don’t Eat Before Bedtime: Eating before bedtime is not the best because you process food much slower, but this doesn’t mean you can’t have a healthy little snack. If you have the munchies, then eating cereal or some type of fruit shouldn’t be a problem.
While it is true that your body processes food much more slowly when you are sleeping, that’s really not the problem. Most people just want a quick snack before bed so go for some heavily processed food with lots of salt or sugar. If you’re hungry have an apple or piece of celery and a glass of water, instead of a doughnut and soda.
Lose 15 Pounds in 15 Days: This is a very famous myth that has lots of variations like “30 pounds in 30 days” or “5 pounds in 5 days” and so on. The problem here is that weight lose is not a race. Losing weight should be a slow a gradual process that happens over a period of time. All weight loss professional say that 2 or 3 pounds a week is the realistic goal.
Fats Are Terrible for You: Well this myth is also very popular, but the real truth is that fats are not 100% terrible because you need it for your body to function properly. Fats start being bad for your body when you consume excessive amounts.
Carbohydrates are Bad For You: Lots of people say carbohydrates are bad thanks to the Atkins diet. But eating carbohydrate is crucial for being healthy. Some carbohydrates are better then others, i would stay away from eating to much of white flowers.
