Nutrition facts. Myth: Becoming a Vegetarian insures weight loss and healthiness.

Truth: Research has proved that those who follow a vegetarian diet plan eat less fat and fewer calories than those who are non vegetarians. Vegetarians also tend to have lower body weights because choosing a vegetarian diet plan with low fat content is helpful in weight loss. However vegetarians can make poor food choices that contain high amounts of fat and calories with little or no nutritional value.

Myth: All dairy products are unhealthy.

Truth: Dairy products contain many nutrients your body needs including protein to build muscles and help organs work properly. Dairy products also contain calcium to strengthen your bones, and fortified with vitamin D to help your body utilize the calcium. Fortunately low-fat and fat-free milk, yougurt, and cheese are just as nutritious as whole milk products.

Myth: Eating after 8:00pm is a sure way of weight gain.

Truth: Your weight loss or gain is determined by what and how much you eat and how much physical activity you do during the day. It really doesn’t matter what time of the day you eat, your body will store any extra calories as fat. If you down 500 calories over your daily value right before you goto bed obviously your not going to burn them while you are sleeping so your body will store it as fat.

Myth: Skipping meals is a great way to save calories and lose weight.

Truth: Many studies have shown that those who skip meals (especially breakfast) and eat fewer times during the day tend to be heavier than those who eat a healthy breakfast and eat five small meals a day. Eating many small meals throughout the day helps you control your appetite and keeps your metabolism going. Those who skip meals tend to feel hungrier later on and end of over eating.

Myth: Fat-free means no calories.

Truth: Fat-free foods are often lower in calories than the same size portion of the full- fat food. Many processed fat-free foods contain just as many, if not more calories as the full fat version of the same food. Fat-free processed foods can contain added sugar, flour, or starch thickeners to improve flavor and texture after fat is removed.

Myth: Herbal weight-loss products are safe and effective.

Truth: Weight-loss products that claim to be herbal are not necessarily safe. Herbal products are not usually scientifically tested to prove they are safe or effective. A great example of this type of unhealthy herbal product is ephedra. Ephedra is an herb that is now banned by the United States Government because its products have been known to cause serious health problems and even death. Products that claim to be ephedra-free are not danger-free because they contain harmful ingredients similar to ephedra.

Myth: Weight training isn’t a good idea if you are trying to lose weight.

Truth: Weight training or doing strengthening activities such as push-ups and stomach crunches on a regular basis will actually help you lose or maintain weight. Activities that build muscle are great because muscle burns more calories than body fat. Its recommended to do strengthening activities two or three times a week. Only intense strength training can build very large muscles.

Eat Slowly, Lose Some Weight?

There was a rumor saying that if you eat slow, you can actually lose weight. Now, its been proven that the rumor is a fact. A new research study provides the first ever scientific proof that if you consume food slowly, you well end up eating less. It even says that you will enjoy the meal a lot more.

The study found that when women took there time eating there meal, they consumed about 80 fewer calories compared to when they were told to eat as fast as possible. They study concluded that by eating slowly, you can reduce your calorie intake by 200 and 230 per day.

They only down side to this study is that, they did not do it with men, so nobody knows if men are going to have the same results. The problem is that when you eat fast, you don’t realize your full, but when you eat slowly, you brain has the time to realize that you don’t need any more food.

I think this is very interesting, I’m going to try this out, how easy could it get, just eat a little slower then usual.

The Best Exercise To Burn Fat

exercise routine. Whats the best exercise out there to burn fat? Well, any exercise that gets your heart rate elevated. If you are interested in losing weight, then you need some type of exercise which will increase your pulse rate enough to burn your body fat more efficiently.

You see, if your heart rate increases enough while doing exercise, your bodies metabolism well increase tremendously, causing you to burn of calories. Your body burns more calories because it needs energy.

When you lose weight, not only are you going to look much better, but by losing, lets say 10% of yours body weight, you can reduce many types of diseases like, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart attack, and your self esteem will sky rocket.

One of the important things you need to take serious is your commitment. If deep inside of you, you really want to lose some extra weight, then you have to commit to do a good cardio at least 3 o 4 times a week. I know this is hard, i have been there, but trust me, all your hard work will eventually pay of in the long run. Your exercise sessions should be between 35 minutes to 1 hour. If you can do a little more then great.
If you commit to do 30 days of regular exercise, you will find that at the end of that month you will have more energy, be in a better mood and you will probably have lost a few pounds. Commitment is one of the keys to success.

I recommend you do different exercise routines, so you won’t get bored. Some examples of my favorite exercises are walking, swimming, weight lifting, and playing basketball

High Protein Diet Increases Cancer Risk

weight loss cancer photo. Researchers have found something that may leave us pretty surprised. They found that people who eat a low protein diet helps protect them against some types of diseases, while people who consume lots of protein have a risk to develop cancer.

The study found that people who are lean, consume low proteins, low calories and do regular exercise have lower levels of plasma growth factors and IGF-1. Plasma growth factor and IGF-1 have been found to be linked to certain types of cancer like colon cancer and prostate cancer.

A professor at Washington University said, “We know there is a link between nutrition and cancer,” he also mentioned that “There are certain cancers that are linked with levels of IGF-1, which is an important growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of cells.”

They found that people who consume less protein have lower levels of IGF-1, while those who consume lots of protein had higher levels of IGF-1, which is very dangerous. They study was published in the American Journal of clinical Nutrition, this month.

Basically, for the study, they got a group of people to consume low proteins, while the other group consumed a high protein diet. The end conclusion was that those with high protein intake had  high levels of IGF-1 and had more chances of developing cancer, while the low protein group had lower levels of IGF-1 and thereby have better chances of not developing any type of cancer.

This is very shocking for me because i always though that lots of protein was good for your body. When i was younger i use to consume lots of protein shakes after my daily workout, um i guess i can be in trouble, lol.

Weight loss surgery is excellent for those who want to lose excessive fat. This is not meant for those who just want to lose 20 or 30 pounds, only for the real obese. Before thinking about a weight loss surgery, you need to get familiar with some surgical options. Your surgeon can be can be the best person for you to learn all the information about the procedure of the surgery. Never be reluctant in asking questions, even if you think its not smart. Always make sure you clear all you doubts about the surgery.

In order for you to do a weight loss surgery, an informed consent of the patient is obligated. Informed consent is a legal term which says that the patient fully acknowledges that he has complete understanding of the surgical procedure, and that he is 100% aware of the consequences and benefits.

A weight loss surgery can have marvelous results, but there are some risk and complications involved in it. Some of these consequences can be bleeding internally, risk of gallstones, infections, anemia, osteoporosis, etc. I’m not trying to scare you, but this is what can happen. Let me just make clear that these bad effects are less common these days.

There was a women called Mary, she was obese and did a weight loss surgery, the whole operation went excellent, but when she was going threw the recovery, she got infected with a bacteria that ending up killing her. So this is a very serious and should not be done only if it is 120% necessary.

A successful surgery is just the begging. After the surgery the patient has to change is lifestyle completely. Doing a well balanced diet and exercise routine.

Weight loss surgery is not recommend by me, but if your doctor says its necessary then its a must. There are companies who have very good weight loss pills that have proven to be safe and have few side effects compared to surgery, so you should also consider doing a weight loss diet combined with some herbal pills before going threw surgery.

Natural weight loss picture.In today’s world, everybody wants to be trim and very slim. Why do you think people want to push themselves in doing hours and hours of exercise to get the perfect body? With the new campaigns in TVs, magazines, and schools, people are now more educated on all the health issues that being overweight can cause, so people are doing anything they can to mantian a healthy body, at least most of them do.

Being obese can lead to many terrible diseases such as diabetes, clogging of the arteries, high blood pleasure, heart failure, and much more fatal conditions. Its become obvious that to live a healthy life you have to be in shape. People are trying so many crazy things to loose weight that its just plain hilarious.

There are so many scams out there that its just nuts, and the worst part is that people believe in these so called miracle diets, pills, or exercise machines and waist there hard earned cash in junk.

In my personal opinion, losing weight naturally is one of the best ways. Natural weight loss for example is doing a diet rich in lean protein, fruits, vegetables, etc. Without buying any dangerous non natural pills. Let me clarify that some weight loss pills work great, but others are pure crap.

Doing a natural weight loss plan is very hard and requires lots of dedication, but this will pay of on 3 months when you look at all the pounds you lost.

Fat burning foods. If it could only be that simple. Fat burning meals, just find them, consume them and just sit back and watch the fat fall right off, right? Well, not really. This has worded for some people. For others, it was only a temporary loss. Trust me, if it was this easy to lose weight, then why is the USA having a epidemic of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, high blood pressure, etc? So what is this talk about thermogenic foods?

In reality, all the foods have some kind of thermogenic effect…your body needs to process any type of food you eat for energy. These terms refers to foods that burn more calories for your body to digest and process than there are in a serving of food in the first place.

For example, if you eat a serving of berries that has 35 calories and it takes your body 1 hour to digest them, then you end up with -35 calories, or a negative calorie mini snack. However, if you spend your whole time counting calories and consuming just fat burning foods in a diet, you could risk getting caught up in just another Fad diet. And most of us know how this can end up, you end up in the spot when weight loss slows down and end up very hungry and cranky.
The real good thing is that fat burning foods is a great start to a much better way of eating.

All you have to do is take it a step further. The best fat burning foods of all time is protein. And the greatest, highest, quality protein is from chicken, red meat, duck, and turkey. Now, just combine your proteins with vegetables, add some carbss and carbs like whole wheat bread and you have creating thermogenic meal.

fat loss image.As part of your big efforts to lose those extra pounds, you may think of eating and exercising properly is the two most important elements. They are, and if you do them correctly, all of the nasty fat well literally melt away and you will have much more energy and self esteem.

For those looking to lose a great deal of pounds, you can increase your metabolism simply by doing little extra things that you haven’t done in a while, like walking everyday in your local park for 15 or 30 minutes “depending on your health”, parking further to the store, or job, getting the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. You get the idea. These little things burn lots of calories each day and if you add all those calories for a month, it will become pounds of extra weight that you lost just  by adjusting your daily routine.

If you are  thinking of losing a bit of weight, then it will be much harder to increase your metabolism, but by any means its not impossible. You well need any type of exercise that will elevate your heart rate for over 8 minutes. Also, like i said in my previous article, you should eat many small meals instead of 3 big meals.

One great exercise you should do “this is for both men and women”, is lifting weights. Many women think that lifting weights are only for men because they think its just for building muscle, but women also can lift weights to tone up, its not like you are going to lift the same amount weights as men, so don’t be scared about getting big, you won’t. The greatest boost in metabolism is lifting weights hands down. Not only are you going to loose weight, but you are going to look fit.

Some people like to take supplements to increase there metabolism. This isn’t the perfect solution, but they do work pretty good. I have had great success with this, but you should not depend only on supplements to burn your fat, you need to combine supplements with exercise for the greatest results. Also, some people because of there heath condition can’t take nutritional supplements, so i would recommend you visit your local doctor to make sure you qualify.

Regardless on how you go about increasing your metabolism , just make sure that all this that your doing is for your own health, and at the end, your going to be glad you made these efforts.

You lose some pounds, but after 3 months you gain them right back, maybe even gain more then what you were before. The simple truth is that most of the popular diets out there do work in the sort term, but not in the long term.

The only way that you can make sure you keep your weight of is by doing regular exercise, and “this is the hard part” make a lifestyle change. You have to take responsibility for your life and body, by making some small tweaks to things like, how you eat, how much you eat, what you eat, and of course how much exercise you do.
Here are some of my tips that i give people.

* Eat lots of small meals throughout the day.

* Do some regular exercise.

* Lower your daily calorie intake by a small percentage.

* Replace some of the carbohydrates and fat with meals high in protein.
As you can see, these are very simple tips that are very effective for keeping out the weight.

Reducing Belly Fat The Right Way

Before i give you some advice on how to lose belly fat, i’m going to tell you some ways to prevent all this from happening.

Prevent Abdominal Fat.

It has been shown that abdominal fat can develop as a result of stress. Its normal to have some stress threw out the day because of traffic, bad day at work, debt, etc, but the trick here is to control it. One tip I always give people to reduce the stress is to make funny faces. I know it sounds pretty weird, but this can reduce stress up to 65%, so its pretty good. Just try not to do this in public, people could think you are nuts.

If you are in a ideal weight, then that doesn’t give you privileges to not do exercise. The greatest way to prevent belly fat is to always do some kind of exercise at least 3 times a week, even if your fit. Remember this is to prevent , not loose fat, so you can take it easy on the exercise routine’s.

How to loose belly fat?

Reducing belly fat is not a easy task, so you need to have some patience, but it well pay of at the end. The best option there is to lowering that abdominal fat is to do a high protein low carbohydrate diet, combined with good aerobic exercises “to burn all those extra calories”, and some stomach toning. If you follow the diet and do regular exercise, the belly fat is going to fall right out. Many people do this, but they fail because they don’t have the patience, and since they don’t see any results the first week they just quite. So, what I’m trying to say is that one of the most important elements in cutting down belly fat is to have patience with your results, that’s all i ask.
